Artist's Comments
This is the portrait I did for the BBC for Doctor Who. Sophia Myles as Madame de Pompadour in the episode 'The Girl in the Fireplace'. I copied it straight from the Boucher painting of Madame de Pompadour (client's choice!) and painted Sophia's face using a publicity pic. I would've preferred to have photographed her in costume but life aint perfect!
It was in shot for all of 5 seconds! Who cares, it was fun to do!!
